Flood D.C. with Letters from New York this Monday, February 26th
one small action you can take this weekend
A letter-writing campaign has been put together by the local community for the purpose of flooding D.C. with letters for our New York State senators, Gillibrand and Schumer. This is a very well-organized initiative inspired by a group in Massachusetts. There is a spreadsheet explaining how to sign up to protest on the behalf of specific individuals martyred in Palestine. In addition to the name of that person, you will have access to their photo and a note about their life and a sample letter you can use (or you can write your own).
More than 1.4 million people (including more than 600,000 children) are taking refuge in Rafah, having fled to the city when it was deemed a “safe zone” by the Israeli government. As Rafah experiences continued attacks and fears of the imminent carnage that a large-scale ground invasion in the area would bring, the U.S. continues its support and funding of this genocide, repeatedly blockading any impunity of Israel.
Writing a letter (or multiple letters) is one small action you can take to put pressure on our government this weekend. Each of the people represented by the thousands of names on the spreadsheet gave their life to this madness. Let’s make sure a photo of every single one of those people is put in front of our senators next week.
All letters should be sent on Monday, February 26th.
